I make quilts with t-shirts on the top and a cotton backing. I cut the shirts to size taking great care to center the design/emblem, stabilize the back of each one with a piece of interfacing meant for t-shirt quilts, and then sew the shirts in a grid pattern. The quilt top, cotton/polyester batting and backing are then sewn together using Mabel (my long arm sewing machine). When the stitching is completed a complementary binding is sewn around the edge to complete the project.
Quilt square size will depend on the size of the shirts and desired quilt size (usually 12-14" finished squares). Shirts with small chest emblems can be used as well. Shirts provided by the customer must be clean and in good shape. Backs of shirts can be used to increase the size of the quilt or offer contrast. Price includes batting, backing of your choice (within reason), thread, and Edge 2 Edge quilting with a computerized design of your choice.
Emblems larger than the quilt square size will be cut to best represent the design. Special requests may incur additional charges (Example: borders, fabric strips between each square, etc.).
As with all projects I take on, I keep in contact with you through out the process letting you know about any concerns and giving you a peek view of your quilt in progress.
PRICE: $25 per cotton t-shirt square. Additional @2.00 per shirt for squares larger than 14 inches. Additional $8.50 per shirt requiring extra attention (sport jersey, polo shirt, gym or racing pinnie, etc.).

I can make a quilt for you from scratch using just about any item you have. I have used a loved one's clothing (dress shirts, blue jeans, aprons, etc.), prize ribbons, and even dog grooming bandanas.
Quilts will be pieced together by sewing machine, have a layer of cotton/polyester batting and a cotton backing, a computerized quilting pattern of your choice, and a binding.
As with all projects I take on, I keep in contact with you through out the process letting you know about any concerns and giving you a peek view of your item in progress.
